Happy New Year, Happy Dog. Crissy Field
The conditions were perfect for heading out the south end of the Golden Gate - a first for me. We had a good ebb to whisk us through.
Going out - Gwenn, Danita, Sylvia (and John's bow)
Look closely, and you'll see the dorsal fin of a Harbor Porpoise!! A pair greeted us just outside the gate.
Reaching Mile Rocks lighthouse, which has a helicopter landing pad on top.
Mile Rocks Lighthouse, and Mile Rocks.
Peter led us to the site of two shipwrecks, the Lyman Stewart and the Frank Buck. With the low tide, the triple-expansion steam engine blocks were exposed.
On a good day, you can see the shipwrecks from Lands End.
The sea is re-capturing the rusty hulks and making habitat for birds and crustatceans.

Danita... she was saying "it's HOT". Imagine, 60º in January!

Returning back the way we came, with one short stop on an un-named beach.
